Javatar crashed.

Javatar is down due to a power outage in my town.

What part of the country on you in where power is out?

I'm in Massachusetts. The power came back on a few minutes ago--server is back online.

2PM here. Still down.

We are back up. The uninterruptible power supply that backs the server somehow tripped, drained the battery, and the server shut down.. So it wasn't the code--maybe a power surge (or time to put my UPS out to pasture). Just bought new batteries for it too...

I just tried to do a remote login--and I can't get on to the system. I'm out of town on vacation, and will be until Friday (tomorrow) night. So unfortunately, we will be down until that time.

It is quite possible our uninterruptible power supply died, or perhaps we are the victim of another windows update related take down. Rest assured, we should be back up in a little over 24 hours from now...

At least it went down near the END of my vacation..

It appears that the server is down, in some sort of state that it cannot be connected to remotely.  

Jude is out of state, and will return tomorrow in the evening hours.  Being that the equipment is new,  we think it is just a matter of restoring power/connectivity and we will be up and running again.

It is good that the system will soon be back up again. The early signs of serious with-drawl has been noted in at least two players. Another has his wife wondering why he is available for wifely assignments so much more than usual. And one was actually seen out mowing the yard for the first time this season.

One is considering getting his driver's license reinstated now that he has free time on his hands. Several kids realized their dad hadn't left home, but was previously in the computer room all day (and night). Re-introductions were accomplished.

The server is back up and running.  When I have a moment, I will post precise details of how/why we were down for so long, and the steps I have taken to remedy such outages in the future.

A Windows update took us offline. I'm working on an automated fix to make these updates (relatively) seamless.
