Must be used in combat
My character amage is unresponsive and displays the message "Must be used in combat" continuously. Haven't found any key combination to stop the display. Backing out and reentry does not change the condition. She is currently on level 11.

UPDATE: 4 hours later - the condition described above was not present when I signed back in later in the evening. It solved itself OR someone intervened.
Thanks

Re: Must be used in combat
Mike, any idea what caused this condition? A specific spell perhaps? Or maybe item casting? If you are able to reproduce this error, please let me know--it's a new one as far as I know.
Also, was the message "must be cast in combat" or was it "must be used in combat"?

Re: Must be used in combat
Jude, I think the message was as you indicate not what I recorded.
And I believe I was the cause of the condition when during a fight as I was switching from one char to another, I inadvertently hit the red X on the mage and caused it exit the game during the fight and after I had initially asked the mage to auto spell.
When I attempted to re-enter the game the fight was over, but the mage continued to flash the message. My bad. when I wrote the note, it appeared I wasn't going to get the message to cease and be able to actually run the char. It appears the condition went away unless you intervened.

Re: Must be used in combat
The message is "Must be used in combat", and I caused it again by accidentally clicking on the red X of a mage char when switching between multiple chars during a fight. I had previously cast an auto-spell with the mage before I accidentally terminated the mage.
The flashing message seemed to overrule any keyboard commands to reach the mage and stop the message. I finally moved the other chars into a different room, waited a bit, and re-signed the mage back into the game and then the flashing message was gone.
Obviously, I caused my own problem when I terminated (accidentally) the spell casting mage during a fight.

Re: Must be used in combat
So let me get this straight--you 'X'ed out the window, and then saw the "must be used in combat" thing when you logged back in? If that's the case, this could be a pretty easy fix..

Yes, that is what happened - I Xed out of the window (accidentally) during a fight.
