Word of Death

I was wondering if it could be looked into to make Word of Death even deadlier than it already is. When my relatively low level party runs 14 and I run into Vampires, there seems to choice to throw burning air from the Sorc. My first few times down there, I threw Word of Death. That was not a good decision. A level 10 spell should kick ass and take names. Thanks

If your spell level is too low, your damage vs. tougher monsters like Vampires is not always going to be enough to wipe them out. Burning Air and Word of Death combination however has rarely been known to fail  if spell level is above 200 unless they surprised your party and you don't get the chance to get both spells off.

I think that may have been the problem. When I first hit 14, my sorc was like lvl 250 and when he threw burnintg air, they laughed at him and smoked our party. It has been working fine. Also, I was able to take out an encounter in 1 round, with WoD of the Eldritch Necromance with my healer, which was also an encounter that wiped me out the 1st time. Thanks
