GAME NOT ACCESSABLE

Hangs up on sign-in process. Won't proceed past "Hiding treasure. Please be patient"

There is/was a process on the server that has gone rogue-- and basically hijacked the whole thing instead of just running in the background.

I found the server in a "fugue" state two days ago-- and when I was finally able to complete the login and examine resources -- this single process was using 99% CPU and 72% RAM. If it was as simple as just killing the process, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. It isn't.

Jude thinks he has it all figured out -- but for now be on the watchout for the system slowing way down. Return Records (R) on all chars often, if it even gives you an indication of running slowly. When this thing spools up, it goes from 10% to 70+% CPU very quickly. And right around 70% is where you start seeing lags and slow downs....

Evidently Jude has this thing resolved. Carry on.

Actually today (ST Pat's Day) I find that the game locks or freezes while I am attempting to sign in or very soon afterwards. I sometimes get all 6 in, but usually can't without a freeze up. Occasionally, I get to play a few minutes before it locks up. I have tried to play repeatedly, even waited a while. At this time no luck in success. Still trying for a few more sign in attempts then giving up.

Once completely successfully in and running, there seems to be no freeze issue.

This is not an issue with the server.
