Game is down

Yesterday (Oct 18) the game went down. I checked again this morning and it is still down. -- the 'B' boys

was running for about a 90 mins and then seems to have gone down was not in an encounter

I was about 45 minutes into mapping the funhouse when the game went down.
--the 'B' boys

game is not down-- there were six people playing this AM at 7:45 Eastern.

Are you victim to the port 0 error? If you open a portal and it won't respond-- open another portal.
there is always 1 dead port -- just leave it open on your computer, and all the rest should function normally.

I just crashed the game--

I found Jack's Cloak (cursed) and it was expensive to ID-- so I thought, "better see how much it is to remove cursed item BEFORE you put it on. "

Went into the store and asked to remove it, and poof. Everything stopped.

after an hour still down. don't think it is coming back tonight.

I crashed it again this morning. With the item in use this time. Sounds like the item is so expensive to remove that the game buffers are over stack limits.

of course this is rife for abuse by the players. I could use this feature to avoid a comp or a rocking or really just a bad run if I wanted to.

you better fix this one ASAP

Yes. I was actually logged into the game server when you crashed it. If I hadn't been-- it would still be down. This is not the kind of error the server normally recovers from on its own.

I will advise Jude. Please don't repeat the sequence of events again.

Game just went down and is currently unreachable to log back in.

I just crashed the game (was the only person in, so it had to be me)

and I think I know what I did.

Was in the city, tried to look at a chars page 1. Hit lab, then my finger came down on the 1 and 2 buttons simultaneously. and the game crashed. I thought I had crashed it before with keyboarding errors-- but I was never 100% sure. This time I am positive.

Anyhow, it is down and doesn't appear to be coming back up anytime soon.

there have been an awful lot of crashes recently. i will have jude look into it.

I crashed it this morning-- but it came right back.

I crashed it this afternoon-- and it seems it is down for the count.

Its a fiddly, fiddly game. I tried opening several copies in a row-- other than that I don't know what I did to crash it.

Don't you guys have some sort of error checking/catching protocol in place????

Came home from work and found the server hung up. I fixed it moments ago.

I can't really help with this, as I don't 'do' code, and if I did, it would be 10,000 times worse, I am sure.

Try to spell out EXACTLY what you were doing when It crashed. Often times, the tiniest details are key to slaying the pesky bug.

I just fixed the issue where looking at removing Jack's Cloak (to unuse a cursed item in the store) caused a crash.

The server is currently running in error checking mode. If it crashes today, I will know what line of code caused it.

javatar.org is down as well as when using the client
